Split PDF

Split a PDF into separate files by page ranges, or extract every page individually.

About this tool

Large PDF files often need to be broken into smaller pieces: separating chapters of a book, isolating a signed page from a contract, or sending only the relevant section of a long report. The Split PDF tool gives you two modes — split every page into its own file, or define custom ranges like 1-3 and 4-6 to create one file per range.

Everything happens locally in your browser. When you split a sensitive document such as a legal agreement or medical record, no copy of it ever reaches a server — a guarantee most PDF websites cannot make.

Frequently asked questions

What does the ranges format look like?
Use commas to separate parts and dashes for ranges. For example, 1-3,7,10-12 creates three files: pages 1 to 3, page 7, and pages 10 to 12.
How do I get each page as its own file?
Choose the 'Every page' mode. Each page is saved as a separate PDF and everything is packed into one convenient ZIP download.
Is there a limit on the size of the PDF I can split?
There is no artificial limit. Since splitting runs on your own device, documents with hundreds of pages are handled comfortably on any modern computer.
